Corporate Manslaughter Seminar
Description

Business owners are being urged to review their health and safety procedures as a result of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act that came into effect on the 6th of April 2008.

Under the new offence, companies and organisations are being forced to face up to the fact that whether they knew the work in which they are involved could result in death of an employee or not, they could still be liable.

Now is the time to build your defence. Be proactive, put systems in place and avoid the anguish associated with telling an employee’s family, he/she is dead.

Abrasive Wheels Training
Description

All our abrasive wheel training courses are approved for accreditation with CITB.

All abrasive wheels training is carried out in small groups so that you receive plenty of individual attention, supplemented by course materials. We work closely with the Health and Safety Executive to ensure that our materials reflect current safe working practices.

Description

Personal Safety Training

With the levels of work – related violence still unacceptably high, it is increasingly important for employers to consider the safety of their staff and clients. The law requires employers to provide a safe place of work but this can be difficult in a world where the potential for conflict and violence is all too realThis CIEH accredited Conflict Resolution and Personal Safety 1 day training course has been developed to provide staff and managers with the skills to recognise potential problems before they arise, build in the necessary controls and diffuse conflicts before they escalate to serious confrontation and violence.

Description

This course aims to give those who either come into contact with asbestos containing materials, or who manage or supervise workers, the necessary information about where asbestos may be located, the associated health risks and the control measure necessary to prevent or control exposure.

Working At Heights Training
Description

The construction and other related industries have a poor health and safety record giving that 60% of fatalities (HSE Statistics 2005) are due to falling from heights. This session covers the three main aspects of working at heights – Scaffolding, Elevated Work Platforms and Ladders and ensures employers and employees are compliant with the updated Work at Heights Regulations Northern Ireland 2005 and the Health Safety at Work Act 2005 of Ireland

Who should attend?

The training is relevant not only to the construction industry but can be tailored to meet the training needs of staff in a variety of working environments Construction site personnel, Estate Management Staff, Care Takers, Surveyors, Security and Cleaning Staff who have to assess risks and use appropriate fall prevention equipment at work. The training will be very much tailored to meet the training needs of those attending and will be developed accordingly after consultation with management staff
